Chilliwack – At approximately 11:15 a.m. on September 11, 2026, the Chilliwack Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire in the 9000 block of Broadway Street.
Firefighters from Halls 1 and 4 responded to the incident. Upon arrival, crews found fire and smoke coming from the rear of a 2-storey wood frame residential house.
Firefighters quickly knock down flames from the exterior and transitioned to an interior attack to extinguish the remaining fire.
Fortunately, there were no occupants in the building and no injuries to residents or firefighters were reported.
The fire remains under investigation by the Chilliwack Fire Department.
There were no working smoke alarms in the home at the time of the fire. The Chilliwack Fire Department would like to remind all residents to ensure working smoke alarms are installed on every level of the home and in each sleeping area.
