Chilliwack Vedder Road Structure Fire

Chilliwack – On Monday afternoon (March 13, 2017 at approximately 1:00pm) the Chilliwack Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire located in the 6400 block of Vedder Road.

The occupant in the main floor bedroom awoke from the activation of the smoke alarm and to the smell of smoke. The occupants with their dog quickly evacuated the home and called 911.

Firefighters responded from Halls 1, 4 and 6 and on arrival, reported seeing black smoke at the windows of the main floor of this two story residential home. Fire crews setup a defensive attack and quickly brought the fire under control.

The home suffered fire and smoke damage to the interior of the structure.

No on was hurt.

This fire appears to be accidental and is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department.
