Chilliwack – Early Wednesday morning, September 30th at approximately 6:40am, the Chilliwack Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a townhouse on fire in the 44000 block of Reece Avenue. Upon arrival at the scene, crews observed a large volume of fire and smoke coming from the carport area of a corner unit townhome.
Crews quickly secured a water supply from a nearby hydrant and achieved a rapid knockdown of the fire; damage was limited to the exterior of the townhome. If it wasn’t for the swift actions of fire crews, this fire had the potential to do major damage to the townhouse complex.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported at this fire, and the fire is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department officials and the RCMP.
