Two People Rescued from Harrison Lake Near Resort

Harrison (with files from Black Press/Pattison Media) – On the heels of last weekends drowning in Harrison Lagoon, came another concern.

Scanner and social media traffic say that EMS and RCMP have responded to Harrison Lake near the Resort, late Wednesday afternoon (August 20).

Two people, possibly husband and wife, fell off a boat and into the water.

There was concern that this could have been a drowning, fortunately it was not.

Black Press reports that according to Agassiz RCMP spokesperson S/Sgt. Darryl Peppler, emergency rescuers were dispatched to Harrison Lake near the Harrison Hot Springs Resoort after two people reportedly fell off a personal watercraft. Officers contacted the watersport rental company, who quickly located the craft through GPS tracking and staff were able to safely rescue the couple.

Kent Harrison Search and Rescue was notified but later stood down. Emergency Health Services were on the scene and assessed the individuals with no injuries reported.
