Victoria – Voting results are always a little tenuous. Some ridings are soooo close that a result may actually take days.
Elections BC said in a media release to FVN that with the snap election called, a certain protocol has been put in place.
Key word here is patience.
From Elections BC : Results will be reported as the come in on election night.
Elections BC is using a hybrid ‘snap’ election model for the 2026 Provincial General Election.
Paper ballots cast at advance voting and at district electoral offices will be counted with electronic tabulators. We expect results from these voting opportunities to be reported first on election night.
Ballots cast on Final Voting Day will be counted by hand, as we did in the previous ‘snap’ election in 2020.
This is due to the short timeframes and complex operational logistics of a snap election.
Election night results are preliminary, and do not include absentee or mail-in ballots. These will be counted at final count, scheduled for Nov. 6-10.
