Fraser Valley/Victoria – BC Transit and participating local government partners across the province will offer transit free of charge on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Decisions to provide free transit are made by local government partners in participating communities.
Free transit will be available in the following communities:
- Bella Coola
- Campbell River
- Central Fraser Valley – excluding FVX
- Chilliwack – excluding FVX
- Comox Valley
- Cowichan Valley – excluding inter-regional routes CVX, SVX and NCX
- Cranbrook
- Dawson Creek – election day service will be regular weekday service. Free transit will also be available on advance voting days
- Fort St John
- Hazelton – excluding inter-regional routes (Routes 163, 164)
- Kamloops
- Kitimat – includes Skeena regional routes
- Merritt
- Mount Waddington
- Nanaimo – excluding inter-regional route NCX
- Pemberton
- Port Alberni
- Port Edward
- Powell River
- Prince George
- Prince Rupert
- Quesnel
- Revelstoke
- Salt Spring Island
- Smithers – free transit on Routes 22 and 23. Free curb-to-curb service from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. on election day
- South Okanagan-Similkameen – Penticton local routes only
- Squamish
- Terrace – includes Skeena regional routes
- Vernon – Vernon local routes only. Route 1 is free for riders boarding within Vernon
- Victoria
- West Coast Transit
- West Kootenays
- Whistler
- Williams Lake
