Perth Ont/BC – (from OPP and RCMP) – wo Ottawa men are now wanted for first degree murder as the investigation into a homicide in Perth continues.
On Sunday, April 12, 2026, at approximately 3:15 p.m., officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to Last Duel Park, where one person was located with life-threatening injuries. The victim, identified as 34-year-old Christo ALLISON RICHARDS of Ottawa, was transported to a trauma centre and later pronounced deceased. Two people have since been charged in relation to this investigation.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, arrest warrants have been updated for 34-year-old Joseph MADORE and 28-year-old Brayton KENNEDY, both of Ottawa. Each is now wanted for first degree murder, contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code.
Investigators have reason to believe MADORE is in British Columbia and may be travelling through or camping in remote backcountry areas. Police believe KENNEDY may be in New Brunswick. Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is urged to contact police immediately. If either individual is seen, call 9-1-1 and do not approach.
The Lanark County OPP is conducting the investigation, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Assistance is being provided by OPP Forensic Identification Services.
