Hope – The Tashme Historical Society and the District of Hope announced that February 15 2024, was moving day for the 1916 Historic Hope Station.
The new home on the prime waterfront municipal lot on 919 Water Avenue.
Nickel Brothers had been prepping the building for the long anticipated move. Crews told FVN that the move was uneventful. That’s a good thing! And nothing rattled and came off during the move which stated at 9 AM and by 1PM, the building was settled into the new location. Now comes the hook ups.
The station has been in the public cross hairs after it was slated for demolition in 2021 and plenty of political back and forth posturing nearly brought the project to an end with a demolition.
There was a major protest to save the building in April 2021 and That FVN story is here.
The building will become Sunshine Valley Tashme Museum.
