Chilliwack – On Friday evening (September 24,@7:20PM) Chilliwack Fire was dispatched to a reported structure fire in a single-family home in 46000 block of Maple Avenue.
17 firefighters responded from fire halls 1, 4 and 6 and on arrival, reported heavy fire and smoke venting from a detached garage on the property. From some angles, it appeared that the smoke was from Chilliwack Middle School but that WAS NOT THE CASE.
The fire was confined to the garage, which suffered major fire and smoke damage.
No one was hurt and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and is under investigation by the Chilliwack Fire
Department.
