Chilliwack – This time last year, we were under the shock of cancellations due to the pandemic. The annual Party in the Park and Fortin’s Classic Car Show were scrapped, with hopes of a 2021 return.
That won’t happen.
One year later, and we seem to be resigned to more cancellations even though many of us are rolling up our sleeves to get any vaccination.
On Monday, Trevor McDonald, the Executive Director, of the Downtown Chilliwack Business Improvement Association (DCBIA) made it official, wait until next year.

A message to all our friends and supporters of the annual Downtown Chilliwack Party in the Park event. It is with the utmost respect for the existing COVID 19 rules in effect that we will not be hosting the Party in the Park event this coming summer. We are looking at exciting options for this event in 2022 but at this point, we feel it is best to give our many volunteers, sponsors and of course, our supporters adequate notice.Watch for smaller community events coming to our downtown this summer as the guidelines and restrictions lessen. We will keep you posted on this page and our Downtown Chilliwack page. The overall health and well being of the community is our first concern. We wish you all health and happiness.
McDonald went on to tell FVN and chillTV that this also includes the annual car show.
