IIO Investigating AbbyPD Conduct – Suspect Injured By Police Dog

Surrey/Abbotsford – The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of BC is investigating an incident in Abbotsford.

Information provided by the Abbotsford Police Department indicates that on March 6, 2021 at approximately 8:00 p.m., a man was arrested by police in relation to an ongoing investigation.  The arrest took place in the 3700-block of Davie Street and involved the assistance of a police service dog, and the man sustained serious dog bite injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The IIO was notified on April 12 and has commenced an investigation.
