Abbotsford Fire – Major Damage At Willow View Farms

Abbotsford – Abbotsford Fire responded to an early morning blaze at Willow View Farms on McCallum Road (off Vye Road close to the Sumas border crossing).

The cause of the fire is not yet known. The main store and the coolers are destroyed.

The only mention of the fire on their website is “closed due to unforeseen circumstances”.

The owners of Willow View Farms have pledged to rebuild once the clean up and insurance paper work is done.

Abbotsford Fire posted : On Wednesday morning (August 23, 2017,@7AM), Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service (AFRS) responded to a report of a barn fire at 280 McCallum Road.

On arrival, AFRS crews found a 60 foot by 60 foot structure fully engulfed with fire.

Fire crews initially focused on keeping the fire from spreading to adjacent structures and once additional AFRS resources arrived, the fire was brought under control. The main building that was on fire was a total loss, however, all adjacent structures were saved.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. AFRS fire investigators are currently on the scene.
