Mission – Friday morning (January 20, 2017), Mission RCMP responded to a report of a collision involving a small sedan and a school bus near the intersection of Husband Road and the Lougheed Highway.
Emergency Health Services and Mission Fire and Rescue arrived to treat reports of minor injuries for eight children who were on the bus. The bus was en-route to a local school, carrying 62 passengers when it was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
The Lougheed Highway was closed in both directions for a period of two hours as police attend to the collision and assessed the cause of the incident; although, icy roads and the speed of the sedan are considered to be contributing factors.
