Four Goals From Jordan Kawaguchi Paced Chiefs To A 5-2 Win In Langley

Langley – A four goal outburst by captain Jordan Kawaguchi paced the Chiefs to a 5-2 win in Langley Monday afternoon.

Darien Craighead also scored for the Chiefs who registered their 31st win and moved five points ahead of the second place Wenatchee Wild in the race for first place in the mainland division.

Chilliwack led 3-0 after twenty minutes and 4-0 after two. A pair of goals by Langley’s Zac Masson late in the third made it interesting until Kawaguchi hit the abandoned Langley net for his fourth of the night.

Two of Kawaguchi’s goals were scored on the power play which finished 2/4.

Aidan Pelino stopped 20 of 21 shots in just under 53 minutes of action to earn the win. He was removed from the game for precautionary reasons.

The Chiefs are on the road this weekend with games in Powell River (Friday), Cowichan (Saturday) and Victoria (Sunday afternoon). They return to home ice on Wednesday February 17th when they host the Wenatchee Wild.
