Surrey SAR Hit By Thieves – Other SAR’s Helping Out

Surrey/Fraser Valley –  Surrey Search and Rescue has put the word out that their vehicle compound was broken into and significant rescue equipment has been stolen from two of the emergency vehicles. Along with the theft is the damage done to the emergency vehicle which will limit the SAR team responding effectively.

They are asking the public we serve in Surrey, Delta, Richmond and White Rock that if they are aware of this theft to contact the Surrey RCMP (604) 507-8066.

It is especially difficult for the Search and Rescue members that work so hard to fund-raise for this rescue equipment. They give so freely, of their time to the communities to have this theft occur so close to Christmas, which is a time of giving, is a true shame. May the thieves only get a lump of coal in their stocking this year to go along with their new rescue equipment!

Chilliwack, Ridge Medows and Hope SAR’s have also put out the word.
