UPDATE – A report of “multiple RV’s on Fire” North of Hope, near the American Creek Forest Service Road, was received last evening around 7pm. Upon arrival, Hope Firefighters found 2 vehicles fully involved in fire and threatening other RV’s and trees nearby along with large quantities of flammable liquids and propane cylinders that were also present. “This was a significant challenge”, says Deputy Chief Joshua Westcott, “as water was not readily available and had to be shuttled in throughout the incident”. In all, 12 firefighters were on scene for 3 hours preventing further fire extension. All occupants were able to escape the fire, however one person was treated for burns. The cause of the blaze remains unknown and is under investigation. Thank you to our #professionalvolunteers that #answerthecall along with our response partners from RCMP and BCEHS.
