Chilliwack – Chilliwack Council is expected to shell out the money for the Victoria Avenue parkling lot, which is next to the Chilliwack Alano Club.
From the Agenda: That Council award the Tender for the “Victoria Parking Lot” to Strohmaier Excavating (2019) Ltd., in the amount of $977,797.40 (plus applicable taxes); and further, that the Mayor and Corporate Officer be authorized to sign any necessary documentation.

And water restrictions continue and extended:

Recommendation – That the Stage 3 water restrictions in the City’s Water Conservation Plan be extended to October 15, and that water conservation triggers based on the Provincial monitoring data for Groundwater Observation Well OW406 be approved, as contained within the Staff Report dated July 7, 2023.

Stage 3 Water Restrictions are in effect July 19, 2023 until further notice
Summary of Stage 3 Water Restrictions:
- Residential and non-residential lawn sprinkling is allowed one day per week:
- Even addresses on Wednesdays
- Odd addresses on Thursdays
- 5 – 8 am only
- With the purchase of a New Lawn Sprinkling Permit, watering of new un-established lawns is permitted from 5-8 am daily for a two-week period
- Watering flowers, vegetables, shrubs, and trees is allowed only if using a hand-held container, hose equipped with a spring-loaded shut-off device, or a soaker hose
- Outdoor impermeable surface washing for aesthetic purposes is prohibited (e.g. driveways, sidewalks, buildings, etc.)
- Only allowed for health and safety purposes or to prepare a surface for painting or similar treatment. Must use a hand-held container or a hose with a spring-loaded shut-off device.
