Fraser Valley – The UFV Cascades men’s basketball program announced on Tuesday that they have added four new student-athletes to their 2023-24 recruiting class. Ismael Hernández, Ajay Gill, Arpandeep Singh, and Hayden Sansalone will join the team for the upcoming season.
“These are all great culture guys coming in and they will all help our team keep taking incremental steps forward,” Cascades’ head coach Joe Enevoldson noted about the recruits.
“With this recruiting class, including Marcus Flores and Takeshi Croke, we have addressed some holes in our game, and they will help us face some of the challenges that we had as a team last year.”

A local product, Sansalone decided to stay close to home, as the 2nd Team All-Star at the BC 4A Senior Boys Provincials signed with the Cascades.
“I wanted to be a part of an excellent program close to my family where I can thrive as both a player and a student,” explained Sansalone on his decision.
“Hayden is a great kid coming from a great program,” praised Enevoldson. He’s been to provincials a couple times now, so he knows how to win games, and he’s definitely ahead of the curve defensively. He signed on a bit later than normal which was a pleasant surprise, so based on our numbers he’s going to have to redshirt this year, but we are excited to get him in the weight room and get ready for 24-25.”
The Cascades open their 2023-24 regular season on the road November 3 and 4 against UNBC. UFV will take on the defending Canada West champions from the University of Victoria at their home opener on November 10.
