Chilliwack – The Board of Directors of Community Futures South Fraser is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicola Harris as Executive Director.
Harris is a Fraser Valley entrepreneur and organizational leader with more than 20 years of experience building organizations, developing leaders, and turning strategy into practical results. She knows Community Futures from several sides: first as a Self-Employment Program client, later as a contractor and program leader, and most recently as Program Lead for MYCommunityFutures, a province-wide PacifiCan-funded initiative. In that role she led a 24-person team that supported more than 2,200 entrepreneurs across British Columbia, and reported program results to the Board.
She has also worked directly with Community Futures South Fraser, leading Project Restart and supporting delivery of the Startup Challenge alongside the local team. She is the founder of Harris Consulting, where she advises founders and community organizations on strategy, operations, and leadership, and was co-founder of Culture Co., a marketing and culture development agency. Earlier in her career she led people and culture strategy for CBI Health Group across British Columbia. She serves on the board of the Fraser Canyon Hospice Society and previously advised the Women’s Leadership Collective.
Community Futures South Fraser helps entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses in Chilliwack and Abbotsford start, stabilize, and grow. The organization provides developmental lending, business advisory services, and mentorship, and is governed by a volunteer board of local business leaders. Harris will lead the organization in carrying out its 2026–2030 priorities, including entrepreneurial mentorship, lending, regional partnerships, and a more sustainable future for local business.
