Chilliwack – Back in late May, an officer with BC Highway Patrol – Chilliwack was traveling behind a group of several motorcycles on Highway # 1 east bound between Vedder Road and the Prest Road overpass in Chilliwack.
The rider of one of the motorcycles, identified as a man from New Westminster in his 20’s, decided to perform a ‘wheelie’ in front of the police vehicle at highway speed causing the front tire of the motorcycle to lift from the pavement for several seconds.
The officer immediately brought the motorcycle to a safe stop.
The rider was ticketed under the BC Motor Vehicle Act for Driving Without Consideration which carries a fine of $196. The motorcycle was also impounded for 7 days, resulting in additional towing and impoundment fees.
