Abbotsford – The Archway Community Services Charity Golf Tournament is returning for its 6th year on June 20th and organizers hope it’s the most successful tournament to date.
“Our tournament has been steadily growing and with the increased number of players, sponsors and online options, we hope to break our $75,000 fundraising record from last year,” said Steve Carlton, Archway’s Board President and chair of the tournament organizing committee.
“The need in our community keeps increasing and the funds raised help keep critical programs operating.”
One program that benefits from the proceeds is In It Together, a gang prevention program whose government funding has ended and is in danger of closing.
The tournament also supports Archway programs such as Meals on Wheels for seniors, support for new parents and practical items like car seats for newcomers.
While the Archway Charity Golf Tournament is sold out with a record 144 golfers, the accompanying 50/50 online raffle and online auction are open to the public.
The 50/50 raffle is a new component of the tournament and participants have the opportunity to win up to $10,000 if all tickets are sold.
Items up for auction include an Abbotsford Canucks limited edition Diwali jersey autographed by Arshdeep Bains, gift baskets, farm fresh blueberries, vintage hockey cards plus much more. For the second year, the University of the Fraser Valley has donated a semester’s tuition with up to 15 credits valued at more than $2,400.
Raffle tickets can be found at Archway.ca/Raffle and the auction can be found at Givergy.ca/ArchwayGolf2023. Both will close after the tournament on June 20th at 7:00pm.
The event, presented by Sutton Group WestCoast Realty and supported by the Abbotsford Canucks, will take place at the Ledgeview Golf and Country Club.
