Chilliwack – Build it and they will come. They will also appreciate a little less traffic grid lock. On Tuesday, Chilliwack City Council accepted the proposal for the Vedder / Promontory / Prest Design-Build Project from the lead proponent, Eurovia BC Inc.
The total cost of the multi layered project comes to $15,251,227.14, and should be ready by 2021.
This is actually four projects wrapped into one bundle and therefore, one cost outlay.

Vedder Road – Keith Wilson to Promontory
Works include 1,000m of road widening construction to include 4 travel lanes, a center turning lane, bike lanes, sidewalks, streetlights and traffic signal upgrades.
Promontory Road-Vedder to Chester
Works include 1,100m of road widening construction to include 4 travel lanes, a center turning lane, bike lanes, sidewalks, streetlights and traffic signal upgrades.
Vedder and Watson Intersection
Works include traffic signal expansion and approximately 200m of road widening complete with paving, streetlights, curb and sidewalk,.
Prest Road Widening – Hwy #1 to McGuire Intersection
Works include approximately 1,800m of road construction, widening and the Semiault Creekbridge replacement.
