Chilliwack – On the heels of a June fundraiser at the Jolly Miller Pub for the Reptile Room, the owners are doing something a little different, and delicious.
Always in need of funding to pay the costs of maintains the critters, whether they are found on the ground or abandoned, The Reptile Room has been very busy lately, as several of the local reptile rescues have closed this year. Mission’s “The Reptile Guy” closed last year after cruelty allegations, which were later dismissed.
This has left a lot of reptiles without the help they need and deserve. The Reptile Room have taken on several cases over the past few months and the vet bills and critters needing help are growing fast.
Amber DeGans, the owner of the Reptile Room told FVN that on average, it cost $10,000 a month to operate. The Reptile Room is an education centre that has had to take in other animals as the two other reptile rescue operators in the Valley have closed.
On top of that, baby season is here. They are busy hatching eggs and feeding littles. Pop in during the weeks to come as the hatchlings reach adoption stages.
