Chilliwack Care And Share Food Bank – Shelves Are Empty

Chilliwack, BC – Don Armstrong with the Chilliwack Salvation Army was hopeful that the Xmas In July would ease the concern that happens every summer for the Food Bank. People forget that the Food Bank needs help 24/7- 365 and with the failing economy ( YES, we WILL say the “R” word… Recession) that needs is skyrocketing.

So here we are again, similar to last year, when the plea was out that the community needs to step up. So when you start to do your back to school hopping, pick up just one or two non-perishable food items and drop them off at the Salvation Army office on Yale, south of the Yale Road overpass.

Don Armstrong posing for the Chilliwack Progress newspaper ad last year at this time, our foodbank shelves are starting to run critically low on a variety of items! If you are able to donate, please visit us at the Care and Share Centre, drop in a grocery store food barrel, we are happy with any donation small or large!! Thank you Chilliwack
