Surrey Cares, First Peoples, 4th Annual Vital Signs Survey

Surrey – New research is underway by SurreyCares Community Foundation, and First Peoples are the focus.
The Vital Signs© report, published as part of a national program led by Community Foundations of Canada, provides a comprehensive, reader-friendly look at how Surrey is faring in key quality of life areas.

This year’s Vital Signs research, slated for release in October, is focused on First Peoples living in Surrey. We know that many Aboriginal people value the accessible services that living in Surrey provides, and we recognize that there are challenges for some. We know that we need to know more.

To present a snapshot of Surrey’s vitality and well-being, the final report will bring together local data and knowledge on a wide range of interconnected topics, or indicators. These will include arts and expression, justice, lifelong learning, and more.

Each of our indicators have been discussed and influenced by a select group of leaders in the First Peoples communities including all six nation in Surrey, local Metis, and various service provider (NGOs and government) organizations.
