Chilliwack (City of Chilliwack) – Construction on the Lickman Road roundabout artwork will begin this week.
Please drive carefully through the roundabout and follow any changes to traffic patterns.
From City Council Agenda: On December 10, 2025, the Request for Proposals (RFP) for public art at the Lickman Road Roundabout closed. The project budget was established at $70,000, inclusive of GST. The RFP did not prescribe specific design criteria, allowing for a broad range of creative responses, and a total of nine proposals were received.
The evaluation process was conducted in two stages. Technical components of the submissions were reviewed and scored by staff from the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department and the Engineering Department.
The Chilliwack Public Art Advisory Committee was responsible for assessing artistic merit, including aesthetics and the artists’ previous work. At its March 20, 2026 meeting, each proponent presented their concept to the Committee and responded to questions prior to the final scoring.
Construction Timeline:
October 21 – November 27, 2026
