Chilliwack – The Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce announced on September 21, that Leanna Kemp has resigned as Chief Executive Officer, and that Jason Metcalfe has been appointed Interim CEO.
Leanna joined the Chamber in 2017 and, over the course of her nine-year tenure, led the organization through a period of remarkable growth. Under her leadership, the Chamber was named BC Chamber of the Year in 2019 and recognized as one of Canada’s Fastest Growing Chambers of Commerce in 2025.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors and the broader business community, I want to thank Leanna for her dedication and the lasting impact she has had on our organization,” said Kyle Hayhow, President. “We wish her continued success in her future endeavours.”
The Board has named Jason Metcalfe Interim CEO, effective immediately. Jason most recently served as CEO of Cheam Enterprises Inc. He will focus on ensuring a smooth transition while the Board conducts a search for a permanent CEO.
The Board expects to launch a formal search process for a permanent CEO in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile Kemp is running for Chilliwack City Council in the October 17 Municipal Elections.
