Victoria – After defections from the BC Conservatives, Five MLA’s who left to be independents, are back in the good graces.
From September 21 media release: Lorne Doerkson, Interim Leader of the Official Opposition, issued the following statement:
“Effective immediately, I have formally notified the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia that the following Members of the Legislative Assembly have been readmitted into the Conservative Party of British Columbia Caucus:
John Rustad, MLA”
Trevor Halford, MLA
Linda Hepner, MLA
Scott McInnis, MLA
Claire Rattée, MLA
Still no word on what will happen to Chilliwack North MLA Heather Maahs, but that may not be decided until after the Saturday September 26 Abbotsford-Mission By Election. Specifically between Conservative ex leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay and NDP’s Pam Alexis.
Heather Maahs was appointed interim leader of the Official Opposition, the Conservative Party of British Columbia on June 29.
