Fraser Valley – WBB: Cascades come undone in third quarter to split weekend with WolfPack
The UFV Cascades were outscored 24-4 in the third quarter on Saturday, as the TRU WolfPack came away with the 60-50 victory at the UFV Athletic Centre.
After splitting the weekend, the Cascades and WolfPack each see their records move to 4-7 on the season.
The Cascades return to action after the December break, with their first game coming on the road in Victoria on January 9
MBB: O’Connor guides Cascades to weekend sweep of TRU
Bennett O’Connor had a massive night for the UFV Cascades, leading the team in points, rebounds, and assists, as they took down the TRU WolfPack for the second straight night at the UFV Athletic Centre on Saturday.
The result leaves the Cascades and WolfPack tied at 7-4 on the season, as UFV now heads into the winter break.
The Cascades now head into the winter break, with their next Canada West action coming on January 9 away to Victoria.
WVB: Cascades fall to Dinos for second straight night
The Calgary Dinos completed a weekend sweep of the Fraser Valley Cascades, winning 3-1 (25-18, 21-25, 25-13, 29-27) on Saturday evening at the Jack Simpson Gym. Calgary finished the night hitting at a .282 efficiency, compared to .123 for Fraser Valley.
Both the Dinos and Cascades now close the first half of the season with identical 5-5 records.
UFV resumes Canada West play Jan. 9–10 when they play host to Brandon.
MVB: Cascades head into winter break after defeat to Dinos
The University of Calgary Dinos men’s volleyball team extended their home dominance with a 3-1 win over the Fraser Valley Cascades (22-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-22) Saturday at the Jack Simpson Gym.
With the victory, Calgary remains undefeated at home this season. The Dinos improved to 4-6 in Canada West play, while Fraser Valley continues to search for its first win in 10 games.
Calgary will begin the second semester with a tournament in California hosted by Long Beach State before returning to Canada West action against the UBC Okanagan Heat on Jan. 9-10 in Kelowna. Fraser Valley resumes play at home versus the Brandon Bobcats on the same weekend.
