Cultus Lake – The Cultus Lake Park Board announced that the Province of British Columbia has approved the expansion of their Nominal Tenure foreshore area. This expansion adds new waterfront space under Park Board management and supports improved safety, environmental stewardship, and community access.
What This Means
• The expanded foreshore area will now be incorporated into Park Board oversight.
• All existing public access to waterfront pathways and docks remains unchanged.
• The Board will review and update the Foreshore Bylaw to include the new area.
Next Steps
• Over the coming months, Park staff will gather information on foreshore users (such as buoys, docks, and boat lifts) in the expanded area.
• A revised Foreshore Bylaw will be developed to ensure:
• Safe navigation and reduced congestion.
• Compliance with provincial environmental standards.
• Effective stewardship and transparent management of moorage and buoy placement.
Community Engagement
Residents and visitors will have opportunities to provide input during the bylaw review process.
