Chilliwack – Impaired Driving Enforcement – Chilliwack RCMP
Between 6 PM on Friday, October 24th and 6 AM on Saturday, October 25th, Chilliwack RCMP responded to:
Seven (7 ) reports of possible impaired drivers
Issued three (3) Immediate Roadside Prohibitions (IRPs) for alcohol impairment
And conducted two (2) Criminal Code impaired driving investigations
That’s 12 impaired driving-related files in just 12 hours.
Of the 5 enforcement actions (IRPs or Criminal Code charges), 3 of these also involved collisions. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
As we head into Halloween weekend, we urge everyone to plan ahead if you intend to drink. Arrange a safe ride, use a designated driver, or call a cab. There will be many children and families out walking on our roads. The Chilliwack RCMP does not want a repeat of last Friday night.
