Abbotsford – Weekend Recap: October 24– 27:
Between Friday at 5:00 AM and Monday at 6:00 AM, AbbyPD frontline officers responded to 329 police files, staying actively engaged throughout the weekend.
Friday Night
Officers responded to a high volume of priority calls throughout Friday night. One notable incident occurred just after 3:00 am early Saturday morning—a shooting at the intersection of Clearbrook Road and Downes Road. One individual sustained minor injuries and was treated at hospital. The incident appears to be targeted and is not believed to be related to extortion. The investigation remains ongoing.
Saturday
Both day and night shifts on Saturday were relatively routine. During the day, our AbbyPD Community Outreach Team hosted our annual Wall of Lanterns event at Superstore. Nearly 300 pumpkins were carved and displayed on a large wall in the parking lot, which will remain on display until this Friday. A big thank you to everyone who made this possible and came out and participated!
Sunday
Sunday was steady, with officers attending to various calls for service throughout the day and evening. Significant follow-up work was also completed on several ongoing investigations.
Ongoing Initiatives:
• Operation Community Shield remains active in response to recent extortion-related incidents. Patrol teams conducted a variety of checks and patrols throughout the community to ensure public safety and visibility.

Proactive Traffic enforcement efforts led to:
2 impaired drivers being removed from the roads, and 14 violation tickets being issued. By the end of the weekend, 2 individuals were held in custody.
