Mission – Mission Community Services Society (MCSS) has officially opened registrations for the 2026 Christmas Bureau and is calling on local property owners, commercial landlords, and businesses to help make the program possible by donating temporary commercial space for its annual Toy Shop and distributioncentre.
For more than 50 years, MCSS has helped ensure local families can experience the joy and dignity of the holiday season. Last year, the Christmas Bureau supported 455 households, more than 450 families, over 1,300 individuals, and 1,044 children, with the support of 24 volunteers who contributed more than 530 volunteer hours.
As registrations open for the 2026 season, MCSS is seeking a temporary location to operate its Christmas Bureau from approximately November 23 to December 23, 2026.
Space Needed:
MCSS is seeking a secure, accessible temporary facility that can accommodate:
- Approximately 500 to 600 square feet for a Toy Shop
- Approximately 400 to 500 square feet for toy storage
- Optional food storage space, if available
- Accessibility features, parking, washroom access, Wi-Fi, indoor heating, and electrical capacity
- Loading access to receive donations and shipments
Online Registration: September 15, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. to November 10, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.
In-Person Registration: Wednesdays only from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at MCSS Main Office, 33179 2nd Avenue, Mission. Service Dates: October 14, October 21, October 28, and November 4.
