Chilliwasck – Chilliwack RCMP is inviting the community to come behind the scenes at the detachment during its Open House on Saturday, September 12th.
From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., community members are invited to visit the Chilliwack RCMP Detachment for a free, family-friendly event offering an up-close look at how the RCMP serves the community.
Visitors will have an opportunity to tour the cell block, explore police vehicles and equipment, meet local RCMP members and connect with first responder partners. The day will also include a performance by the RCMP Pipes and Drums and face painting for children.
A free community barbecue will be available throughout the event, with donations gratefully accepted in support of Cops for Cancer.
“The Open House is an opportunity to welcome the community into our detachment and connect in a relaxed environment,” says Inspector Harinder Kheleh, Operations Officer, Chilliwack RCMP. “We want people to come in, ask questions, meet our members and partners, and get a better understanding of the work happening in their community.”
