Chilliwack Community Cupboard Needs Volunteers and Donations – Aiding Recent Apartment Fire and Wildfire Victims

Chilliwack – The Chilliwack Community Cupboard is a registered charity that has been serving our community for approximately 13 years. What started as a small community initiative has grown significantly over the past several years, thanks to the incredible generosity and support of people throughout Chilliwack.

Right now, they are working closely with Tydel Foods to support families and individuals affected by the recent wildfires throughout British Columbia, with a particular focus on helping those in our local Chilliwack community.

Website is here

Tydel Foods is helping provide food to families, while the Chilliwack Community Cupboard is providing clothing, shoes, bedding, housewares, hygiene products, and other essential items.

The response from our community has been truly incredible. People have opened their hearts and donated generously, and as a result, our Cupboard is currently very full.

Now, they need the people who need these items to come and get them.

If they need clothing, shoes, hygiene items, bedding, or other necessities to help their family get through this difficult period, please come in and take what is needed.

When you do find a place to live, you are welcome to come back and get additional household items to help you begin rebuilding your home.

Supporting Local Chilliwack Families

Families do not have to have been affected by the wildfires to access this support. If you have children under the age of 19 living in your household and meet our mandate, we welcome you to come and see what we have available.

There is no shame in asking for help. Sometimes families simply need a little extra support to get through a difficult season.

Their goal is to make sure that children and families in our community have access to the basic necessities they need.

They Have Been Supported – Now Let Them Support You

Chilliwack has shown us once again what an amazing and caring community this is.

We have received so many generous donations that our shelves, clothing areas, and storage spaces are full. We want these items to go to the people who need them.

If you need something, please don’t hesitate to come in.

If you know someone who has been affected by the fires or a local family with children who may need some extra help, please share this information with them. You may be helping someone who is struggling but doesn’t know where to turn.
