From City of Maple Ridge:
Due to ongoing heavy rainfall and elevated reservoir levels, BC Hydro is planning to conduct a controlled release at Alouette Dam to manage reservoir capacity.
ALOUETTE DAM RELEASE UPDATE – DELAYED
BC Hydro’s planned controlled release to manage reservoir levels has been DELAYED as rainfall was lower than anticipated. An update will be shared once further information is available from BC Hydro.
A controlled release is a necessary and routine operation to safely regulate reservoir levels and is not an emergency. It will increase downstream flows, particularly in areas already impacted by the heavy rains.
