Environment & Climate Change Canada has upgraded the rainfall advisory for our region:

Rainfall: 80–110 mm expected

Areas affected: Fraser Valley – central (including Chilliwack) and east (including Hope, Hope Slide, and Hwy 3 from Hope to Princeton – western sections)

Timing: Ongoing now through this evening

What to expect:

• Heavy rain associated with an atmospheric river

• Rising freezing levels causing snowmelt

• Saturated ground increasing runoff

• High streamflows and localized flooding are likely

• Reduced visibility at times; some roads may become impassable

Yesterday’s Flood Watch from the BC River Forecast Centre remains active. Rivers rose overnight and are expected to continue rising through today and into Thursday.

Our Operations crew is actively monitoring local conditions, as well as any new information from the BC River Forecast Centre, and will respond as needed.

For real-time alerts and emergency notifications, download the Alertable app.

Stay safe, stay aware, and check on neighbours who may need assistance.
