Chilliwack – UPDATE from Chilliwack Fire : – At approximately 5PM on December 8, the Chilliwack Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire in the 47000-block area of Bailey Rd.
Forty-two firefighters from Halls 1,2,4, 5 and 6 responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews encountered smoke and fire showing from a large two story detached
building at the rear of a rural property. Firefighters initiated a defensive attack, successfully
containing and extinguishing the blaze while preventing damage to the nearby residence.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by
the Chilliwack Fire Department.
ORIGINAL STORY – From Doug Warnke at Fraser Valley Road Report – Fire trucks raced to Bailey Road after 5 PM for a shed and house fire on a farm property. Social media reports are that Bailey is temporarily closed to traffic (Bailey closed from the circle (Prest) down to Chilliwack River Road. Police at both ends)
This is near the Bailey Landfill.
