Chilliwack Fire Responding to a Shop Fire on 10800 Block of McSween Road

Chilliwack – Just after 4PM on Monday December 2, sirens were wailing through downtown Chilliwack as Fire crews responded to a Shop Fire on 10800 block of McSween Road.

It is believed to be a small engine shop – Underhill Mechanical.

Firefighters from Halls 1, 2, 4, and 6 quickly arrived on the scene and found smoke and flames emerging from a large shop. Both occupants had evacuated the building. One occupant sustained minor injuries while rescuing one of the family’s three pets.

No injuries to firefighters were reported.

The firefighters successfully rescued the two remaining family pets, both relatively unharmed. The pets were in a secure location behind a closed door, which helped protect them from smoke inhalation. This incident underscores the importance and value of closed doors in reducing the threat of fire and smoke.

The Chilliwack Fire Department is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
