Fraser Valley – WBB: Quick start lets Cascades cruise past Spartans

After building a big early lead, the UFV Cascades cruised to a 66-46 win over the Trinity Western University Spartans on Friday night at the UFV Athletic Centre.

The win moves the Cascades to 16-3 on the season, while the Spartans drop to 12-7 on the year.

The Cascades and Spartans meet up once again on Saturday, with tipoff set for 5p.m. Saturday will also feature a ceremony following the women’s basketball game to celebrate the Cascades’ graduating seniors.

MBB: Cascades keep rolling with win over Spartans on Friday

The UFV Cascades outscored their opponents in every quarter, as they claimed the 93-67 win over the Trinity Western Spartans on Friday night.

The Cascades improve to 8-11, and one step closer to clinching a playoff spot, while the Spartans fall to 4-15 on the season.

The Cascades will look to clinch a playoff spot on Saturday when they meet the Spartans once again with tipoff set for 7p.m. Saturday will also feature a ceremony before the game to celebrate the Cascades’ graduating seniors.

It took all five sets, but the USPORTS No. 6 ranked UFV Cascades picked up the victory over the UBC Okanagan Heat on Friday in Kelowna. Led by Gabrielle Attieh’s team-high 19 kills, the Cascades took the match with set scores of 25-14, 17-25, 21-25, 25-23, and 15-11.

The Cascades improve to 18-3 and continue their 12-game win streak, while the Heat drop to 9-12 with the result.

MVB: Cascades fall to Heat in four sets

Despite a strong performance from UFV’s Ryan Adams, the UBC Okanagan Heat men’s volleyball team earned an exciting four-set victory (21-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-19) over the UFV Cascades on Friday night at the UBCO Gymnasium.
