Chilliwack – In celebration of 100 years of service, The Salvation Army Chilliwack is partnering with key community partners to fundraise $1 million, and they want you to be a part of it.
They’re looking for 10,000 people to donate $100 to the Salvation Army Chilliwack. To do this, they are looking for 100 businesses or leaders that each connect with 100 people who each donate $100.
Every dollar donated will supply the Salvation Army Chilliwack with $2-$3 worth of buying power for food, clothing, supplies, and important social services programs!

For the last 100 years The Chilliwack Salvation Army has worked to provide assistance to needy families throughout Chilliwack. This has included feeding thousands every month through our Food Hamper, Community Kitchen and Pantry programs. They have also ensured men and women experiencing homelessness have a safe, warm and dry place to sleep. With your support, they can continue to meet these needs in our community for the next 100 years.
Here is what these funds will primarily be used for:
1. Food Purchasing – Food Bank usage has increased by over 40% in the last year alone, and will be using these funds to purchase food to keep up with this increased demand. They will especially be looking to increase our supply of fresh produce to support “The Pantry”, our free grocery store that feeds over 4000 families each month.
2. Facility Maintenance & Equipment – They have been in our current space for over 40 years, and the facilities are being strained by hard usage. These funds will be used to perform vital and overdue building repairs and maintenance, as well as purchase new equipment to replace aging hardware, such as 2x new forklifts for our warehouses.
3. Expansion of Family Services apparatus – Salvation Army would like to better support Food Bank families beyond just food security, by providing services that minister to their needs in a more holistic manner. This could possibly include counselling services, parental support, financial counselling, youth & children’s support and more.
