VPD Searching Canada Wide for Sex Offender Released from Matsqui Institution, Failed to Report to Halfway House

Fraser Valley/Vancouver – Vancouver Police are searching for a high risk and violent sex offender wanted Canada-wide.

36 year old Johnny Walkus, obtained statutory released from Matsqui Institution (Abbotsford) on February 6 and failed to check in to his halfway house in Vancouver. He has not been seen since.

Walkus is 5’8” and has a heavy build.  He has short black hair, brown eyes, and the name “Johnny Cash” tattooed on his right forearm. He was last seen wearing a red and black t-shirt, black track pants, a long black hooded coat, a camouflage-coloured Vancouver Canucks baseball cap and black and white Nike runners.

Walkus is serving a sentence for two counts of sexual assault, and one count each of break and enter with intent and utter threat to cause death/harm.

Anyone who sees Johnny Walkus, or has information on his whereabouts, is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
