Coast Valley Markets Made It’s Chilliwack Debut

Chilliwack – A new summer market is in town. Coast Valley Markets Betty Boucas on why she wanted to take the idea from the Lower Mainland and bring it to Chilliwack:

“Forming an excellent relationship with the good people at Carman United Church, we decided for this years market it would be our home.  We are a private market, and wanted to offer first of all vendors who had suffered such loss on farms, wineries, etc a place to sell at a discounted rate.  Many artisans and home businesses are also in recovery mode and we wanted to provide a place for them as well.  I hold a current City of Chilliwack Business License and our markets follow all health rules and we work alongside the Fraser Health officer.

I moved to Chilliwack about two years ago from Langley and love it here.  I have been a vendor at many Farmers Markets from West Vancouver to White Rock and several lower mainland locations. I sold at Yarrow last year and will again this year.  For many years and still now I have run a very busy concession at the Langley events Center for outdoor sports.  I have been involved with the Food Truck events and will participate in the one taking place here June 4 and 5th.

For four years I was on the Board of Directors for Artisan Farmers Markets, we operated large farmers markets in Burnaby, Ambleside Park and Lonsdale Quay.  I managed the Ambleside summer market for the last six weeks during the Pandemic and also the winter market at Ambleside.  In Nov 2021 myself and two others started Coast Valley Markets, we ran a very busy market at the Galleria in Ambleside and again in the spring of 2022.  I have a passion for markets.”
