Bridal Falls (with files from Chilliwack Scanner, Castanet/The Weather Network) – Chilliwack and Popkum Fire, Chilliwack SAR, BC EHS and the RCMP Helicopter responded to a call after 6PM Tuesday of a possible small plane that went down.
A search grid was between Mt Cheam and Bridal Falls.
By 10PM Tuesday, the search was either suspended or concluded and there is speculation that if it was not a plane, was it a small meteor.
Peter Vogel made that remark to FVN.

NOTE (from The Weather Network) Orionid meteors are set to flash past the Hunter’s Full Moon on Wednesday.
That smoke trail is not unlike ones produced by rare daylight-visible earth grazers, meteors that are large but that skip through the upper atmosphere.

Search appears to be over. Nothing found. RCAF Cormorant likely headed to Abbotsford to refuel. No crash found in the Mt. Cheam – Bridal Falls area. @DanBurritt @FraserVN @bc_news_addict pic.twitter.com/3bMk73KEj4

There are pictures from Twitter and Facebook of a wisp of smoke from the search area.
Area in question of possible plane crash in the Fraser Valley. In the rugged Bridal Falls – Mt. Cheam area. No aircraft in area at present, at least not with ADS-B identification. Mapping from @scan_sky. @FraserVN @RyanVoutilainen pic.twitter.com/ctwUf4bURz

We were in the circuit when someone else called over chilliwack radio asking if anyone had heard the distress call. Have a feeling the distress call was coming in on Sumas traffic 122.77 though, not Chilliwack 122.70. We also scanned the ELT 121.5 and heard nothing.
