Abbotsford – The City of Abbotsford is having a municipal by-election on Saturday September 25, 2021 to fill a vacant seat on Council. That seat was former Councilor Bruce Banman who was elected MLA for Abbotsford South in 2020. Banman is the Official Opposition critic for Citizens’ Services.
To follow on line, FVN Fraser Valley News will update on Facebook Live and Instagram Live. By-election results will be posted on the City website at www.abbotsford.ca/election/election-results. Results will be posted as soon as they are tallied following the closure of the polls at 8PM.
The concern will be turnout. We just had the Federal Election and voter burnout is a distinct possibility. Traditionally By-Election turnout is poor.
The candidates:
Dan Dennill
Aird Flavelle
David McLauren
Korky Neufeld
Tom Norton
Gerda Peachey
Dave Sidhu
Manjit Sohi
Dao Tran
