Chilliwack FC Invited to Apply for Canada Soccer National Youth Club Licence

Chilliwack — Chilliwack FC announced that the club has been formally invited to apply for a Canada Soccer National Youth Club Licence, an ambitious standards-based classification program and a first for the Chilliwack youth soccer organization.

“A key action item in our Chilliwack FC 2021-2025 Strategic Plan is to undertake the Canada Soccer club licensing process,” says Chilliwack FC chairperson Andrea Laycock. “We are thrilled to have been invited to apply for our National Youth Club licence and to continue to raise the standards expected of our Executive, coaches, officials, players, and staff, and pursue excellence in our programs and service delivery.”

Canada Soccer expanded its Club Licensing Program to include youth soccer in 2018 and seeks to guide member organizations toward best principles for organizational development both on and off the field. The National Youth Club License is Canada Soccer’s highest amateur club designation under its Club Licensing Program. Organizations achieving this licence must meet the highest expectations of governance, administration, infrastructure, and technical planning; demonstrate support for their Member Association and Canada Soccer Pathways; and participate in the highest level of competition in Canada, the Canada Soccer Player Development Program.

“One of my first impressions of Chilliwack FC is that it is a very forward-thinking club,” says incoming technical director Roger Torres-Jaramillo. “The recent implementation of a technical Skills Centre and increased participation in all of the club’s programming proves that Chilliwack players are keenly interested in developing in a professional environment and that they are being inspired by their coaches to go after their dreams and ambitions in the game.”

Chilliwack FC Executive and staff must submit all documentation by November 1, 2021 and will anticipate Canada Soccer’s decision by May 31, 2022.
