Abby Native and WJ Mouat Grad Drafted by Riders as #2 Pick in 2021 CFL Draft (VIDEO)

Abbotsford (abbysportsunleashed/Province) – Huge congrats to WJ Mouat grad and Abbotsford native Nelson Lokombo on being drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Nelson, the younger brother to CFL all star Boseko Lokombo, was selected second overall in the 2021 CFL draft earlier today!

He was named the Huskies Rookie of the Year in 2017 after recording 38 tackles, one interception, five pass breakups, and one fumble recovery.

In 2019, Nelson was regarded as one of the best defensive players in the country. He recorded a team-high five interceptions, 39 tackles three sacks, four breakups, and a forced fumble.

Nelson was also named to the Canada West first team, and was awarded the Presidents’ Trophy for being the best stand-up defender in the country.
