Seabird Island (Josh Olund – BCIT Radio A&E) – The Seabird Island Festival has been officially cancelled.
In a press release sent out by the Seabird Island Band:
It is with heavy hearts that the Seabird Island Band informs you that the Seabird Island Festival 2021 is cancelled for this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2022 they will watch the waters rise and our canoes race to the finish live with the booming announcer claiming victory to the pullers who cross first and celebrate victory with fresh BBQ salmon.While this was a very difficult decision to make,they’re absolutely certain that is the right decision in compliance with health restrictions and community safety guidelines.
They’re so grateful for all of you who attend and participate in their Festival. Their biggest wish is for all of you to stay healthy and to see you next year as they celebrate nations coming together once again.
The planning for May 27-29, 2022 is underway.
