Langley/Abbotsford – Driving was treacherous between 200th Street in Langley and Whatcom Road in Abbotsford. That includes cars sliding around on Highway 1 in Langley and a multi car pile up in Abbotsford. As of 3:50 PM APD had shut down Highway 1 Westbound at Whatcom Road. You had to get off Highway 1 at Whatcom Westbound and get back on at Sumas for close to three hours.
As expected, by 6:30PM the highway was re-opened.
The icy conditions are expected to get worse throughout the day with temperatures dipping to -10C and a windchill of -16C.
