Fraser Valley – So far the prediction of 5 – 10 cms of snow for the Frsaer Valley by Environment Canada hasn’t materialized as of Sunday Noon. The dusting has made alleys and some sidestreets slippery. Parking lots as well, especially if stagnant rain water froze in place .
It is cold enough for frostbite. The Sunday Afternoon forecast:
Arctic outflow warning in effect – Periods of snow and local blowing snow. Amount 5 to 10 cm. Windy. Temperature falling to minus 6 this afternoon. Wind chill near minus 16. Risk of frostbite.
Sunday Night – Cloudy. 60 percent chance of flurries this evening and after midnight. Wind east 50 km/h gusting to 70. Low minus 10. Wind chill minus 16 in the evening and minus 22 overnight. Risk of frostbite.
Avalanche Canada has already issued back country warnings for other parts of BC.
The Valley is preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.
